History of the breed Welsh Pony Section B

Like the Section A Welsh Pony, the Section B has very old roots. It was created by crossing Section A and C ponies. Arab and English Thoroughbreds and Hackneys were also used. Three stallions were important for the creation of this section: Tan-y-Bwlch Berwyn, a cross between a Berber and a Welsh pony. The second was called Criban Victor of Welsh and the third Solway Master Bronze. Unlike Section A, these ponies are taller and show more of the Arabian Thoroughbred influence.

Physique of the Welsh Pony Section B

The head is pleasing, the eyes expressive and intelligent. The neck is shorter, muscular and slightly arched. The shoulder blades are sloping, The back is arched and firm. The back is round and well muscled. The limbs are shorter, firm with good hooves. The coat may be white, brown, pure or black. They are no more than 135 cm at the withers.
