History of the breed Swedish Warmblood

The breed originated in the 17th century in the Swedish stud farm of Stromsholm. In the first attempts, Spanish, Friesian and Arabian horses were crossed. The result was a riding horse with excellent qualities, but no established features. Nevertheless, he became popular and was exported to many foreign studs. They then crossed with English and Arabian thoroughbreds, Hanoverians and Trakehns. This gave the Swedish Warmblood a unified framework.
