History of the breed Normandy kob

The ancestor of this breed are the Bidet horses known in Roman times. Bidets were bred with heavy mares to breed a hardy war horse, both for riding and for pulling carriages. In the 18th century, two stud farms were founded: Le Pin and Saint Lo. The breed had two types: the Norfolk Roadster was a lighter riding horse, now almost non-existent, and the other was a heavier one suitable for draft work.

The head is attractive, the neck is shorter and muscular. The chest is deep, the back is short, straight and firm, the rump is round with a high set tail. The limbs are strong, without rous with good joints, the hooves are large and hard. The coat is pure or brown, and they grow to a height of 155-168 cm at the withers.
