History of the breed Malopolska Horse

The breed originated in Poland in the 19th century. Its ancestors are Arabian Thoroughbreds, Anglo-Arabs, Shagya Arabians, Gidrans, English Thoroughbreds and Furios. The Małopolska horse has two lines: the Sadecki, which has more of the blood of the furios, and the Darbowsko-Tarnowski, which has more of the girdan.

Physique of the Malopolska Horse

The head is pleasing, the neck is muscular, slightly arched. The shoulder blades are sloping, the chest is broad. The back is longer, the rump is slightly sloping and muscular. The limbs are long, firm with hard hooves. The coat is white, brown, pure or black. At the withers it measures 155 - 165 cm.

Use of the Malopolska horse breed

The Malopolska Horse is now increasingly used as a sport horse in show jumping. They are also used on farms for light work and are a popular riding horse.
