History of the breed Finnish Cold Blooded

Originally, there were two types of Finnish horses: the Finnish draft horse and the Finnish all-purpose horse. These types were interbred with each other and the heavier type almost disappeared. The Finnish Cold Horse was a purely working breed used mainly in agriculture. Today it is almost forgotten.

Physique of the Finnish Cold Blooded

The head is pleasing, the neck is strong, muscular with a faint crest. The shoulders are strong, the back firm, the rump muscular. The limbs are well muscled, firm and without roots. The coat is mostly pure, exceptionally there may be whites, dark browns or crows. At the withers they measure 155 cm on average.

Use of the Finnish Cold Blooded

The Finnish Warmblood was mainly used in agriculture, where it can still be found today. It has no other use.

The horses are kind, willing and hardworking. They are able to perform even the most difficult agricultural work, in which they are easy to handle and strong.
