History of the Bashkir horse breed

A very old breed that originates from the Ural region and probably has the blood of the original steppe horses in it. These ponies have perfectly adapted to the inhospitable landscape and are thus very hardy. For the natives, Bashkir mares are the source of a large amount of horse milk, which is fermented and is the basis for a popular drink called kumys.
