Advantages - why get a Poodle Large (Royal)

The Large (Royal) Poodle is very intelligent and easy to train, making it an excellent companion for families and individuals. Its hypoallergenic coat makes it suitable for people with allergies and its coat styling offers a variety of styling options. Poodles are known for their loyalty and love to be in the company of people and this makes them great family dogs. Their high energy levels and playfulness make them ideal for active owners who engage in long walks, running or dog sports. They are also versatile and can be used in a variety of dog disciplines including agility, obedience and even as working dogs.

Disadvantages - why not get a Poodle Large (Royal)

The Large (Royal) Poodle requires considerable coat care and this includes regular clipping and combing to prevent matting. They have high energy levels so need a lot of physical and mental stimulation, which can be challenging for owners with less active lifestyles. Poodles can be prone to certain health problems - such as hip dysplasia and various hereditary diseases. Their high intelligence also means they can get bored quickly if they are not kept busy enough and this can lead to destructive behaviour.
